Parker's Garage

In the 1870s, the newly built railway that connected New York and Philly to the port of Tuckerton brought folks from the cities. A steam ferry shuttled visitors and locals across the bay and Beach Haven flourished as a seaside community.
By the early 1900s, Beach Haven was a geographical embodiment of the good life; that mix of hard work on the bay and beach town relaxation. Ellis Parker opened a restaurant/houseboat rental operation, and later boat engine repair shop. We think of it as a golden age of Long Beach Island the fishermen, the hotel guests, decoy carvers, barkeeps, kids rowing dinghies, the bootleggers, and baymen.
Today, Parkers Garage is a celebration of all that. From our boat slips to our oyster saloon, we want to bring back that era. And we invite your family to be part of it.

Parkers Garage is part of the Black Whale Restaurant Group The Black Whale Bar and Fish House, Mud City Crab House, Ship Bottom Shellfish, and The Old Causeway Oyster and Steak House. In each of our establishments, we aim to serve the freshest seafood and provide quality experience. Parkers Garage is our throwback to Beach Havens golden era, right here on the Barnegat Bay.

f theres one thing we put a lot of stock into, its community. Over the years, our restaurants, families, and staff have become heavily invested in local groups that support the arts, environment, youth, heritage, and commerce, as well as the less fortunate in our region. Some of our major initiatives include:
The Jetty Rock Foundation in providing for locals facing financial and health challenges
Stockton University in conjunction with the American Littoral Societys oyster shell recycling program
Just Beneath the Surface, a series of short documentaries that focuses on the stories of the Long Beach Island Region
The Oyster Farmers, a feature film on the young oyster farmers who harvest from our co-op.
In addition, we are members and/or heavily involved with The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, The Girl Scouts of America, Alliance for a Living Ocean, Stafford Township Environmental Commission, Southern Ocean County Hunger Foundation.
